According to the latest report published on (extra), Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is the highest earning actor in the world. ‘The Rock’ set to star in Call of Duty film adaptation

In an interview with Men’s Journal, Dwayne Johnson opened up about his preparation for the role of ‘Black Adam’, a superhero in DC’s announced comic book adaptation of the same name. The final question posed to The Rock was whether the action star has any plans to bring video game characters to the big screen. To which the 49-year-old actor replied:

« I can’t tell you what game it is yet, but this year there will be a big announcement. We’re bringing the biggest, rawest game to the screen. A game I’ve played myself for years« .

The statement is quite open. In theory, it could be any great game from the past few years. So why CoD?

Why it could be Call of Duty

In 2015, Activision was already planning to create a Call of Duty cinematic universe. In 2020, however, the publisher changed its mind. In the meantime, Activision has been acquired by Microsoft, which could completely revamp the CoD franchise. Early last year, The Rock and Microsoft made common cause when they unveiled the ZOA energy drink in the Xbox mini fridge. The next collaboration could therefore result in a cinematic adaptation of CoD, right?

Faith McKay, editorial manager of Giant Freaking Robot, reported that according to her own sources, Dwayne Johnson is in talks with the studios about a film adaptation of Call of Duty. At the moment there does not seem to be more precise information about the content
