NBA – Moritz Wagner praises brother Franz: “Sky is the limit”

Cologne (SID) – National basketball player Moritz Wagner praised his brother Franz for his strong NBA debut season. “Numbers are always one thing, but I’m impressed by his consistency and maturity,” said Wagner in the DAZN interview: “Sky is the limit. It can go on like this for a long time.”

In the Orlando Magic, who drew him in eighth place in the 2021 NBA draft, Franz Wagner is currently trumping alongside his brother. He averages 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists. The 20-year-old forward is considered a contender for the Rookie of the Year award.

Franz, meanwhile, learns a lot from his brother. In terms of the discipline and professionalism that Moritz shows every day, he is “one of the best you can see on an NBA team,” he said. Before the Wagner brother, who was 24 years old, came to Orlando last year, he had played for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics since his NBA debut in 2018.

The brothers are now reunited in Orlando. “It’s a new experience, I’ve never played with him before,” said Moritz. In fact, both of them also spend a lot of time together off the pitch. “We live together, go to training together – only the time after that everyone uses for themselves,” said Franz: “In the evening we hang out together again and talk a lot.”
