Crysis 4 is finally announced; check out the teaser

Crysis 4 was announced by Crytek, the studio responsible for the development of the franchise, a few hours after it was leaked on Chinese social networks. The official reveal was made through a short trailer, where Crysis’ nanotechnology was shown, ending with the message “Join the journey. Become the hero”.

While there was a lot of hype, it ended up being a bit “bittersweet” considering the reveal was spoiled just hours before the official announcement. According to the website Eurogamer, an image appeared on the Chinese social network BiliBili, which read: “The ‘Crysis 4’ project is confirmed, opening a new nano battleground!”

still in development

So far, it seems, Crysis 4 is just a title in development. However, it is important to remember that the last main title in the series, Crysis 3, was released in 2012. The last 2 years have also seen the remastering of previous titles.

Sobre Crysis Remastered

On April 16, 2020, Crytek announced the remastered version of Crysis, calling it Crysis Remastered. Originally, the game’s developers had announced that it would release simultaneously for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.

However, the trailer released in early July was not received very well by fans of the franchise. With strong criticism of the game, Crytek decided to postpone all versions of Crysis Remastered, except the one made for the Nintendo Switch console, which was released on July 23. From there, developers raced against time to work on improvements to the new title, as it represented a great supremacy in terms of graphics since it was first released in 2007.

At the end of August a new trailer was revealed demonstrating improved lighting, 8K resolution with improved textures and setting the release date for the remaining platforms.

The plot begins with a simple rescue mission, which ends up becoming a battleground for a new war. At the same time, aliens flock to a cluster of North Korean islands. From there, military soldiers armed with armor called “nanosuits” start a conflict against North Koreans and aliens.

Launch and availability

As stated above, no date has been announced by Crytek for the release of Crysis 4. It appears that the studio is hiding its plans very well, but it is believed that new information about the sequel should be shared soon.
