Tourism: a second offensive to animate Quebec


At the dawn of February, Destination Québec cité launches another promotion to see its citizens play tourists in the capital.

In this difficult period, the organization had relaunched last week the promotion on the second night free until March 4 next in the hotels of the region. The list of hoteliers has already reached 75 establishments.

Additionally, from 1is as of February 28, Destination Québec cité now invites citizens of the Québec region to stay in participating accommodation establishments in the region offering a 50% discount on all their nights and to obtain a $25 credit upon presentation of the bill for a restaurant of their choice, in the dining room or for a take-out meal.

In order to give establishments time to register, citizens will be able to see the offer on 1is February.

Destination Québec city therefore relies on the Carnival, the Superbowl and Valentine’s Day to break the routine and encourage the population to encourage the local economy. We want to succeed in injecting liquidity into the coffers of companies.

“More than ever, now is the time to mobilize to support these companies which are going through a difficult period. Citizens can make a concrete gesture for local tourism,” underlines Robert Mercure, director of Destination Québec cité.

Normally, the hotel occupancy rate is around 50%, whereas it would only be 10 or 15% at the moment.
