Curious Advice: That’s what Andy Reid said to Patrick Mahomes

Munich/Kansas City – The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 42-36 after overtime after one of the biggest thrillers in playoff history.

When wide receiver Gabriel Davis gave the Bills a three-point touchdown lead with 13 seconds left in the game, it looked like the 2020 champion might be out of the playoffs early. Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked after the game what he said to quarterback Patrick Mahomes about the “grim” situation they found themselves in.

“If it’s gloomy, be the Grim Reaper and get it,” Reid explained. Mahomes did exactly what Reid advised him to do. Two completions to Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce covered 44 yards and allowed a field goal from kicker Harrison Butker to send the game into overtime and eventually win.

“He did it. He made everyone around him better, which he’s great at, and he just does it effortlessly. When things get difficult, he’s there and he fights. The team appreciates that,” enthused the 63- year-olds about his playmaker.
