DxOMark allocated the score of 143 points for the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra photo module. A score which places it in first place in the ranking of the best photophones.
This Monday, Xiaomi presented a whole slew of new smartphones including its new premium model, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. Barely presented, the smartphone has already been tested by the French laboratory DxOMark. The opportunity for the Chinese manufacturer to recover, once again, the first place in the ranking of the best smartphones for the photo.
A well-equipped photo module
It must be said that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra does not skimp on the characteristics of its rear photo module. We thus find a main camera of 50 megapixels in the format of 1 / 1.12 inch, associated with a wide-angle lens opening at f / 1.95. Suffice to say that with a sensor of such size, the smartphone should manage to capture particularly bright shots.
Alongside it, Xiaomi has integrated a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera opening at f / 2.2 as well as a telephoto lens allowing x5 optical zoom with a 48-megapixel f / 4.1 sensor.
The least we can say is that this optical configuration seems to have conquered DxOMark which awarded the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra the overall score of 143. Decomposed, we are entitled to a score of 148 for the photo, 100 for zoom and 117 for video.
For now, the French laboratory has not yet detailed its test, but only shared the final verdict: “The new model faces a big challenge, given the excellent results of its predecessor, the Mi 10 Ultra, and it doesn’t disappoint. With an overall score of 143, it is the new number 1 in the DxOMark ranking, chasing the Huawei Mate 40 Pro + from first place ”.
Excellent results for the telephoto lens
For now, the few sub-notes shared by DxOMark seem to reveal excellent photo quality with good texture or exposure management, efficient autofocus and good color management.
It does appear, however, that artifacts are visible and the preview feature is a bit below what you might expect. DxOMark also praises the efficiency of the telephoto module, which received the sub-our of 101, against only 54 for the ultra wide-angle.
Currently, the DxOMark ranking of the best smartphones for photography is as follows:
- Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra (143)
- Huawei Mate 40 Pro+ (139)
- Huawei Mate 40 Pro (136)
- Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra (133)
- Huawei P40 Pro (132)
- Vivo X50 Pro + (131)
Remember also that DxOMark has been testing, for some time, the audio quality of smartphones, but also the quality of their screens.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will be released in France at a price still unknown. For the whole of Europe, the advertised price in euros is 1199 euros for 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
