Which tech event was the most significant of 2020?

From the deployment of 5G to the arrival of next-gen consoles, including the Apple M1 chip and the cancellation of major tech shows, 2020 was marked by some major dates. Which of these events had the most impact of this vintage? That’s the whole point of our last survey of 2020.

One year ends, another begins. And the least we can say is that the 2020 vintage was definitely not like the others, in particular because of the health and economic crisis caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19). However, this did not prevent the big players in the technological sector from innovating and pushing their limits.

The Covid-19 shakes up tech fairs

For sure, we will remember several major milestones that shaken this vintage. Starting with the cascading cancellations and rearrangements of the technology fairs that usually punctuate each quarter: the IFA, the MWC or even the E3, to name a few. The end of the year was particularly busy.

On the video games side, Sony and Microsoft have for example released the big game with their new consoles next-gen respective – PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S, when Nvidia unsheathed its new GeForce RTX 3000 cards. Without forgetting Apple and its new powerful chip for Mac, I named the Apple M1.

The month of December was finally the occasion for French operators to deploy their first 5G packages, the brand new mobile phone standard.

Which of these four major events stood out the most for you?

Among these tech events, which one did you think was the most significant in 2020?
