Xiaomi has formalized two new connected products for the home. A connected alarm clock equipped with Chromecast and Google Assistant, as well as a smart camera capable of working with both Alexa and Google Assistant.
Xiaomi’s ecosystem is very large, really very large. Since the international rise of Chinese brand, many products are marketed outside the Chinese domestic market under different names with some variations. We often find dedicated certifications, but also the presence of more global services like those of Google. This is the case for these two products announced this week, in addition to the Redmi 9T and Redmi Note 9T smartphones.
Xiaomi Mi Smart Clock compatible Google Assistant et Chromecast
With its compact and minimalist design, this connected alarm clock fits perfectly into any room in the house. Its 3.97 inch color touch screen allows you to view the time, weather, calendar and can even function as a digital photo frame.
Thanks to a special “Sunrise” mode of the alarm, Mi Smart Clock is able to gradually increase the brightness of the screen and the volume of the alarm, thus making it easier to wake up. Better yet, it incorporates both Google Assistant and Chromecast (to broadcast image and video from your smartphone), the Mi Smart Clock thus acts as a domestic AIoT control and entertainment center (Artificial Intelligence & IoT, artificial intelligence and internet of things), enabling voice control of different smart devices in the Mi ecosystem.
You will be able to view a video stream from a security camera or start playing music and multimedia content from your smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi 360 ° Home Security Camera 2K Pro, a connected security camera
This brand new camera has a 3 megapixel camera that can capture images at a definition of 2304 x 1296 pixels. Unlike many security cameras that use low-end optics, the Mi 360 ° Home Security Camera 2K Pro (the extended name) uses an ultra-wide-angle lens with the camera’s large f / 1.4 aperture, this allows it to capture detailed and bright images even in low light conditions.
There is also a new generation AI human detection algorithm to identify human figures and keep users informed via automated messages sent to their smartphones.
Thanks to two microphones and active noise cancellation technology, the Mi 360 ° 2K Pro home security camera promises to capture quality sound. For users who are particularly concerned about their privacy, the device offers a mode that allows them to rotate the camera inwards, when you are at home. Finally, the device also takes support voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
Availability in France uncertain
We do not yet know if these two products will be available in France, however they have been made official in several European countries from March at 49.99 euros for the connected alarm clock and 59.99 euros for the camera.
