Samsung has unveiled an impressive DDR5 memory stick for servers. It allows you to have 512 GB of RAM.
Our contemporary PCs generally use DDR4 or DDR3 RAM memory for the older ones, with a RAM capacity of up to 32 or 64 GB for the fastest machines (on average, we are often closer to 4 to 16 Go).
But the industry should soon turn to DDR5 allowing much faster speeds at the same consumption. And Samsung presents precisely a first product to initiate the movement.
Increasing flow rates
The brand announces neither more nor less than the marketing of the first DDR5 RAM bar with a capacity of 512 GB all the same.
That’s not all, it also benefits from an upward speed of 7200 Mbit / s, which is double the performance of DDR4, promises Samsung.
Obviously with such a level of capacity and technology, it is not really the individual who is targeted here, but rather the companies. This product should indeed find customers in the supercomputer, artificial intelligence and machine learning market.
For the general public, DDR5 memory should start to be talked about from 2022-2023.
