The next update of the Windows 10 “Your Phone” app will give you more advanced control of your smartphone, with the appearance of commands similar to Android’s quick settings bar.
On Windows 10, the “Your Phone” application benefits from special attention from Microsoft, which refines it with tenderness over the months. Among the latest features added to the app, the ability to respond to notifications from your Android smartphone, or more recently to launch several applications simultaneously on compatible devices (currently stamped Samsung). This February, Microsoft is working on a new addition: a little quick settings bar.
Using indicators, it will allow you to easily access the main parameters of your smartphone. On the other hand, it will be necessary to be a little patient before being able to benefit from it: its large-scale deployment will not happen suddenly, but rather gradually over the coming weeks.
The main settings of your Android smartphone at your fingertips
With this new feature, you will be able to activate or deactivate certain functions such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, vibrate mode, audio player or even “Do not disturb” mode. This small settings bar unveiled by Microsoft appears on the main screen of the “Your phone” application, just below the icon representing your device. As recalled Android Central, the application has until now only shown you whether these settings were activated or not.
With the new version of “Your Phone”, Microsoft is therefore going a step further.
Finally, note that unlike the functionality that has made it possible for several weeks to launch several applications at the same time from the “Your Phone” app, this quick settings bar is not exclusive to Samsung smartphones. This is good news: all users with a recent Android smartphone will therefore be able to access it regardless of the brand of device chosen.
