The UPlay + subscription becomes Ubisoft + and arrives on Google Stadia and Amazon Luna

After the disappearance of the Uplay brand, it is the turn of Ubisoft’s subscription to change its name. The publisher takes the opportunity to talk again about the launch of this offer on Amazon and Google cloud gaming services.

The news is not surprising in the least. After merging UPlay and Ubisoft Club to create Ubisoft Connect, the video game giant will also review its subscription offer. Finished UPlay +, which will hardly have had time to blow out its first candle, and welcome to Ubisoft +. We had already mentioned this name during the announcement of Ubisoft Connect, it had appeared for a while in the publisher’s official FAQ.

A name change is always strategically important and here it seems clear that Ubisoft wants to strengthen the weight of its name so that players more easily associate the publisher with its catalog of games. This is also what EA did by abandoning Origin in favor of the EA Play offer. For Ubisoft, it is also a good way to prepare for the integration of its subscription into new offers.

Ubisoft cloud gaming goes through Google or Amazon

Indeed, Ubisoft indicates that from November 10, the Ubisoft + subscription will be offered in beta in the United States on Amazon Luna (not yet available in France). Integration with Google Stadia will be done by the end of the year. Contrary to what Microsoft or EA can offer, this will be a single subscription for all platforms.

For 14.99 euros per month, players will have access to more than 100 PC games, but a much smaller catalog on the new cloud gaming platforms. We can still count on all the brand new products such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising or Watch Dogs Legion, and premium versions of other titles. All you need to do is link your Ubisoft account with an Amazon or Google account to access the streaming catalog.
