While there is a certain level of excitement that always comes with every major architectural renovation, we may not be loving enough of those updates that follow. However, these more affordable graphics cards that make that new technology available to the masses are just as important, if not more. The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is the beginning of such a journey for RDNA 2: the GPU with hundreds of a next-generation console for less than € 500.
Nor is it one of the cheapest cards on the market. The AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is still a high-end card for the most part, and at € 489.99, it will still be a while before all gaming PCs have the latest Radeon card in their hardware. But being around $ 100 cheaper than the next best thing, the Radeon RX 6800, it makes AMD’s new gaming architecture much more affordable than before.
That’s partly thanks to the Navi 22 GPU at its core – a sleek, downsized model of the Navi 21 silicon that has surprised us so much in recent months. This new GPU will surely be the mold for even cheaper style cards.
AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT Specifications
The Radeon RX 6700 XT is more than a micro dose of what has come before. It has more aspects of AMD’s innovative Infinity Cache, more memory, and a higher clock speed. It has 40 Cus for a total of 2,560 RDNA 2 cores and is equipped with 64 ROPs – exactly half the maximum configuration of the Navi 21 GPU – but the card comes with memory to spare.
The card has 12GB of GDDR6, and 96MB of Infinity Cache.
