The big connected speaker Google Home Max drops its price by 50 euros

The Google Home Max speaker is not only the XL version of the Google Home in terms of size: it is also in terms of its sound power. To benefit from its robustness and its audio without saturation at a lower cost, it will be necessary to turn to Darty, where it goes from 199 to 149 euros.

Announced in 2017, the connected speaker Google Home Max has not aged a bit. It is still praised today for its sound power without saturation and for its robustness, as well as for the quality of Google Assistant. Most often, its price is close to 200 euros, but in this Black Week (and with the approach of Christmas!), It benefits from a 25% reduction.

In short

  • Sound 20 times louder than classic Google Home …
  • … and without saturation
  • Google Assistant still so practical

Launched at 399 euros, then displayed at 199 euros at the majority of resellers, the Google Home Max speaker is currently available at 149 euros at Darty.

Google Home Max

The least we can say is that the imposing size of the Google Home Max smart speaker is obvious: with dimensions of 33.5 x 18.7 x 15.2 cm and a weight of over 4 kg, it will certainly not be discreet compared to the other references of the brand, like the new Google Nest Audio, or, of course, the Google Nest mini. But the advantage of such a build is that it can integrate a much more powerful audio system.

And it is: the sound delivered by the Google Home Max is particularly powerful thanks to its two humbuckers and its two 18 mm speakers for high frequencies. The audio will be balanced and deep thanks to the Smart Sound technology, which allows the speaker to adapt the sound rendering according to the configuration of its environment. Your music or the sound of your podcast will be distributed harmoniously throughout the room. The Mountain View firm even promises a power 20 times greater than that of the classic Google Home, that is to say! To modulate the sound of the speaker, you will have to go to the Google Home application to take advantage of an equalizer.

Who says Google pregnant, necessarily says Google Assistant. The latter will be able to receive all your voice commands, whether it is to know the weather forecast for the day, to launch a song via applications such as Spotify or Deezer, or to control your connected objects installed at home. For all this, you just need to launch the famous magic words “Ok, Google…”. To control the volume, you can also do it by voice or simply by touching the speaker.

Finally, on the connectivity side, the Google Home Max has a 3.5 mm jack port to connect it to an external audio system, and a USB-C input to connect it to the Internet in wired version – only via a USB adapter -C to Ethernet.
