This Tuesday, on the occasion of CES 2021 which takes place virtually this week, Sennheiser unveiled new headphones. Contrary to the current trend, these are not true wireless headphones, like the Momentum True Wireless 2, but wired earbuds, the Sennheiser IE 300.

These new headphones adopt an in-ear format with silicone or foam tips that fit inside the ear canal itself. Three sizes of silicone and three memory foam tips are provided. However, the connection is wired with a plated connector at the cable level. Enough to ensure the best possible audio quality.

The headphones also go around the ear to enhance support. In order to ensure good longevity, Sennheiser also allows the cable to be detached using screw threads to replace it if it were to be damaged.

In terms of audio characteristics, the Sennheiser IE 300 are equipped with 7mm “Extra Wide Band” transducers, already used on Sennheiser IE 800 wired headphones. The manufacturer also announces a frequency response of 6 to 20,000 Hz. Finally, Sennheiser announces a harmonic distortion rate of less than 0.08% at 1 kHz for a volume of 94 dB.

The Sennheiser IE 300 headphones are primarily aimed at audiophiles. They will be marketed from January 19 at a price of 299 euros.
