Through the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform, Segway has put its first electric moped up for sale, the Segway eMoped C80. These are its characteristics and price. During CES 2020 in Las Vegas, Segway-Ninebot presented its new electric vehicles, among which was the eMoped electric moped. Now, the company has launched the eMoped C80, the most advanced model of the three that were announced during the electronics fair. The Segway eMoped C80 is a compact and lightweight electric vehicle specially designed to move around the city like a fish in water. It is an electric moped that can also double as a bicycle, since it is equipped with pedals so that you can use it in case you need it. The design of the first Segway electric moped follows the conventional lines of this type of vehicle. It only weighs 54 kg, has a length of 1.59 cm and a height of one meter, so if necessary it can be transported more easily than other models. Do you want an electric bike but can’t afford it? This kit is the solution to your problems: it attaches to your bike to make it electric. eMoped C80 is equipped with a 750 W electric motor that offers a maximum speed of 32 km / h. Housed under the driver’s seat we find the removable lithium-ion battery. It has 48 V, weighs less than 500 grams and provides a range of up to 85 km. On the LED panel located on the handlebar, you can see at a glance all the information about the vehicle, such as speed, battery charge level and remaining range, lights, etc. It has a front disc brake and a rear drum brake, with regenerative braking that recovers energy. This electric moped has an intelligent safety system called RideyGo! which, thanks to a series of sensors, locks the vehicle automatically three seconds after the driver gets out of the seat. In addition, this technology includes other functions, such as activation through NFC or the AirLock system that allows you to turn on the motorcycle from your mobile phone without the need for keys or cards. The Segway ES2 is an electric scooter that gives us a speed of 25 kilometers per hour and offers a range of about 25 kilometers. A second battery can be attached to increase both power and autonomy. It also has Auto Cruise, a system that can be enabled through the mobile app and that allows you to set a cruise speed. Thanks to this, the moped is kept at a constant speed without the driver having to accelerate. Segway has put the eMoped C80 on sale through a campaign on Indiegogo, where it can be purchased from $ 1,899 (1,612 euros at current exchange rates). At the moment it is only available in the United States and Canada, so we will have to wait to see if it will also reach the European market.
