Until the end of the month, Samsung offers on its store deferred reimbursement offers on its best soundbars up to 200 euros. These sound bars are some of the best around and we explain why it is a good idea to place one under the Christmas tree.
What is the point of having a latest-generation TV if you have to be content with the speakers integrated into the screen, with very limited power and questionable quality? For the experience to be truly complete, it is mandatory to pair it with a good soundbar.
Since Samsung bought Harman in 2016, the brand has invested heavily in soundbars and today offers a diverse and comprehensive range of products. From 229 euros for the first prices to 1499 euros for the most complete kits, there is bound to be a sound bar that will suit your TV.
December is a good time to buy a Samsung sound bar. On its store, but also in major online brands, Samsung offers refund offers ranging from 20 to 200 euros on its entire 2020 range. Here is a small selection of the best soundbars of the brand, in which we indicate to whom it is addressed in priority.
What are the main advantages of Samsung sound bars?
Q-Symphony, to use all available loudspeakers
Samsung’s soundbars released in 2020 (those with a nomenclature of type HW-QXXT or HW-QXXXT) have common qualities:
Their main advantage is that if you have a Samsung QLED TV from the Q80T, Q95T, Q700T Q800T or Q950TS series, you don’t have to wonder: these soundbars will work best with your TV. . In particular, you will be able to benefit from Q-Symphony technology.
Q-Symphony is a technology exclusive to Samsung sound bars and television sets. The principle is simple: the sound is intelligently distributed between the speakers of the television and that of the sound bar. The TV speakers thus take care of the sound coming from the “center” of the screen while the sound bar takes care of the surrounding sound effects.
Now Q-Symphony allows you to have a more pronounced and above all more immersive surround effect. A surround effect that can be further amplified by adding additional speakers to its sound bar, by placing them behind the sofa in the living room.
Note, however, that while Q-Symphony is a technology exclusive to Samsung TVs, the brand’s soundbars work perfectly with all brands of TVs. Simply plugging in the soundbar will mute the device’s speakers.
Acoustic Beam, for more precise sound localization
In addition, some of Samsung’s soundbars feature Acoustic Beam technology. On Samsung soundbars, it takes the form of a tube with multiple holes located on the top of the device.
Synchronized with what is displayed on the screen, it allows to give more details to certain sounds, in order to transcribe more precisely its location. Concretely in a video game, it allows you to hear an object falling in one direction and to guess its trajectory according to the sound it emits on its way.
Finally, with the exception of the HW-Q60T, all Samsung soundbars from the HW-Q70T support the Dolby Atmos and DTS: X 3D audio codecs.
The HW-Q70T soundbar at 599 euros (100 euros refunded)
The HW-Q70T is the entry point for Samsung’s high-end soundbars. It is a 3.1.2 sound bar: it therefore has 3 main channels, a subwoofer (external to the bar) and two Atmos speakers which redirect the sound upwards (integrated into the sound bar). It has Q-Symphony technology, but also Acoustic Beam technology, in addition to supporting 3D Dolby Atmos and DTS: X audio codecs.
The HW-Q70T has everything one would expect from a premium soundbar. It can be connected via WiFi, has Bluetooth, it has an HDMI in socket (to connect a Blu-Ray player or a console for example) as well as an HDMI e-ARC port, allowing content to pass through 4K or in HDR 10+ to his TV and even an optical input.
It also comes with a remote control, but if you have a Samsung TV, you can control it directly with your TV remote.
This large sound bar (a little less than 1 meter wide, all the same) comes with its wireless subwoofer. Usually sold for 699 euros, its price drops to 599 euros with Samsung’s refund offer. Excellent value for money.
The HW-Q900T soundbar at 799 euros (200 euros refund)
The HW-Q900T is quite simply the Rolls of Samsung soundbars. It is a 7.1.2 soundbar: it therefore has 5 main channels, a subwoofer (again external to the bar and wireless), two Atmos vertical speakers, as well as side speakers and in the corners. It is, however, much larger than the HW-Q70T (1.2 meters in length!) And more power (406 watts, compared to 330 watts for the Q70T). It also comes with a wall mount.
Its connectivity is even more complete with two HDMI input ports, an HDMI e-ARC output port, an optical input, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and integrates the virtual assistant Alexa.
From a sound point of view, it is today considered one of the best on the market by the very serious RTings. Like the HW-Q70T, it features Q-Symphony technology, support for Dolby Atmos and DTS: X 3D audio codecs.
The HW-Q60T soundbar at 299 euros (100 euros refunded and 100 euros immediate discount)
The HW-Q60T is Samsung’s most accessible premium soundbar. From the outside, it is difficult to differentiate it from the HW-Q70T: it has the same design, the same build quality and overall the same connections (an HDMI input port, an e-ARC HDMI port and a optical), but it cannot be connected to WiFi.
In fact, the main difference with the HW-Q70T is that it adopts a 5.1 sound configuration. The spatialization effect is then managed by the 3D Dolby 5.1 and DTS Virtual: X codecs. This sound bar is also accompanied by an external subwoofer, always wireless.
The main asset of this sound bar is undoubtedly its price. Launched at the start of the year at a price of 499 euros, she currently benefits from a discount of 100 euros, to which must be added a reimbursement offer of 100 euros. Its final price is therefore 299 euros.
