Realme launches highly accessible headphones with noise reduction in France

Realme has announced the arrival in France of its Buds Air 2, wireless headphones at 50 euros … with active noise reduction.

This Wednesday, on the occasion of the launch of its new Realme 8 Pro smartphone, the Chinese manufacturer also unveiled some accessories to accompany the entry-level smartphone. In addition to a Watch S Pro connected watch launched at an attractive price, the company also presented wireless headphones, the Realme Buds Air 2.

Already launched in India, the new headphones from Realme are in-ear headphones with a rod format. They logically succeed Realme Buds Air, launched in December 2019, but also Realme Buds Air Pro. In addition, the Buds Air 2 take over one of the main features offered on the Pro models launched last November, namely active noise reduction. With its Buds Air 2, the Chinese manufacturer therefore intends to further popularize this technology for smaller budgets, the headphones being launched at 50 euros.

Latency reduced to 88 ms

In addition to this active noise reduction – capable of filtering outside noise up to 25 dB – Realme headphones have 10mm diameter transducers. As for the Bluetooth audio codecs, they are compatible with the SBC codec and with the AAC. However, no support for aptX or LDAC is planned. The manufacturer also communicates on a “super low” latency of 88 milliseconds. It must be said that this is one of the main issues for wireless headsets or headphones on Android. The Bluetooth connection is provided by version 5.2 of the wireless standard.

For controls, headphones, Realme allows to pause the music, go to the next track or switch between classic mode and transparent mode using touch surfaces. The headphones are also IPX5 certified and will therefore resist rain, splash or sweat.

Finally, on the autonomy side, Realme announces up to five hours of earphones on its earphones without noise reduction. The case allows a total of 25 hours of listening.

The Realme Buds Air 2 headphones are available in two colors: black or white. They will be launched on March 29 at a price of 40 euros on the Realme site, then at 50 euros from March 31.
