All about the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro

The Huawei P40 and P40 Pro have some common characteristics. They are both equipped with the Kirin 990 chip with 8 GB of RAM. On paper, it’s less powerful than a Snapdragon 865, but the power is still considerable enough to meet all needs.

But it stops there. The two high-end smartphones from Huawei are then very different. One is smaller than the other already. The classic P40 has a 6.1-inch OLED flat screen while the P40 Pro has a 6.58-inch OLED screen with curved edges on the sides, where its refresh rate even rises to 90 Hz.

For the photo, they both have a 50-megapixel (f / 1.9) main sensor. Then the P40 comes with a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (f / 2.2) and an 8-megapixel x3 telephoto (f / 2.4) while the P40 Pro raises the bar a bit. higher with a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (f / 1.8), a 12-megapixel x5 telephoto lens (f / 3.4) and a ToF (Time of Flight) sensor for depth of field. Either way, they’re both great camera phones.

Autonomy is also to be taken into account. The more durable of the two is without a doubt the P40 Pro with its 4,200 mAh battery, with an otherwise well-managed 90 Hz mode. It quickly recovers percentages with its fast charging compatibility up to 40W and wireless charging is in the game. The P40 doesn’t fare too badly with its 3,800mAh battery, but it only supports fast charging up to 22.5W.

Finally, note that the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro do not offer Google services. So you will need to download your favorite apps via App Gallery or Petal Search.
