While the smartphone is not expected until next year, the Phone Arena site was able to get its hands on a prototype of OnePlus 9, suggesting its final design.
After the OnePlus 8T unveiled a few months ago, the next high-end smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer should be the OnePlus 9, expected for next year. After learning that OnePlus will indeed equip it with the new Snapdragon 888 chip, this time its design is the subject of new leaks.
The site Phone Arena has indeed got their hands on a series of photos featuring the upcoming flagship from OnePlus. Enough to discover the OnePlus 9 from the front as well as from the back or from the side. The smartphone should thus offer a flat screen on the front, without curvatures, with a punch in the upper left corner. The borders would be relatively thin, without a prominent chin, and the lower edge would accommodate the speaker, the USB-C socket as well as the SIM card drawer, without storage expansion.
A photo module with two large sensors
It is especially on the back that the OnePlus 9 should play the card of originality. The smartphone would integrate a triple camera with two large sensors and a third smaller sensor. The photo module should be the same color as the rest of the back of the smartphone, where many manufacturers still offer a photo module in the form of a black rectangle. According to Phone Arena, this module would be composed of a 48 megapixel sensor and a 16 megapixel sensor. Regarding the other characteristics, we would find a battery of 4500 mAh, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
These photos corroborate previous leaks of OnePlus 9. The design indeed corresponds to the 3D visuals already unveiled by the Indian site 91mobiles in mid-November.
The OnePlus 9 should be presented in the course of next year. Traditionally, OnePlus presents its new smartphones between the months of April and June. Nevertheless, the manufacturer could do it in advance this time. Indeed, Qualcomm has indicated that its Snapdragon 888 chip will be ready earlier in the year. Enough to allow manufacturers to stock up on processors more quickly and launch their devices a few weeks or months earlier, like the Xiaomi Mi 11, expected in January. Unlike the OnePlus 8T, launched alone, the OnePlus 9 could also be accompanied by a OnePlus 9 Pro.
