Nvidia will have marked the end of the year 2020 with on the one hand the launch of its GeForce RTX 3000 range, permanently out of stock, which offers a large increase in performance without raising the cost (or even reducing it), and on the other hand the buyout of the giant ARM for 40 billion dollars in order to dominate artificial intelligence in the future.

The firm must now adapt its Ampere architecture to reach all of its professional customers. It has already started doing this with the RTX 3060 Ti and will continue in 2021, as shown in the invitation to its next conference.

Nvidia GeForce RTX conference date and time: Game On

Nvidia has posted an invitation on its site for a new event simply titled “GeForce RTX : Game On“. The conference will be webcast and will be held January 12, 2021 at 6 p.m. (Paris time). This corresponds to the opening date of CES 2021, which will take place completely online for this edition.

What announcements to expect?

The name of the conference leaves little room for doubt: it will be about speaking to the general public, and to players in particular. While the CES had accustomed us to Nvidia conferences dedicated to the automobile or to artificial intelligence, here it will be a question of talking to us about GeForces in the field of video games. What will Nvidia tell us?

First, and this is most likely according to the rumors, Nvidia should unveil the first mobile versions of its GeForce RTX 3000. This will allow laptop manufacturers to integrate the manufacturer’s chips into their new machines as soon as possible. beginning of the year. It remains to be seen whether such a launch will be possible given the low availability of Ampere chips so far.

Rumors also evoke the launch of a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti which would be placed halfway between an RTX 3080 and the RTX 3090. Conversely, we can imagine Nvidia continuing to decline its architecture towards more accessible products with the launch an RTX 3060 or even an RTX 3050.

That is for the hardware. It’s hard to predict what Nvidia could unveil at the software level during its conference, it is generally the elements that escape leaks. For example, we would like to see new ideas from the brand to use artificial intelligence in addition to DLSS or Nvidia Broadcast.

See you on January 12, 2021 to find out what Nvidia has in store for us.
