Initial technical information about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 First Edition gives us an idea of its future capabilities. Its autonomy should at least cover the 450 kilometers.
With its Ioniq 5, Hyundai is preparing to launch a new electric offensive boosted by its new platform – the E-GMP – recently presented. Platform that will allow connected vehicles of the brand to recover 500 kilometers of range in the space of 18 minutes thanks to an 800 V system.
More than 300 horses
Expected in the course of 2021 and the very first automobile to benefit from the said platform, the Ioniq 5 is revealed in more detail thanks to the Austrian branch of the Korean brand. The first reservations – limited to 150 units – have indeed been launched in Austria, revealing in passing a series of technical characteristics, relays The Korean Car Blog.
Please note, however: the items presented relate only to the First Edition version. The specialized site Clean Automobile also contacted Hyundai Austria to ensure the accuracy of the information presented. 4.64 meters long, the Ioniq 5 First Edition will for example have the right to a power of 313 horsepower, and an interesting recharge speed: from 20 to 80% in 15 minutes.
Two battery packs
In all-wheel drive, the 0 to 100 km / h will be shot in 5 seconds, a more than correct result for an electric crossover. Its 58 kWh battery will also allow it to travel up to 450 kilometers on a single charge, but a second 73 kWh pack (not available on the First Edition) would increase its range to 550 kilometers.
The first Austrian deliveries should take place in June or July 2021. At this stage, no price list has been communicated by the brand. Clean Automobile expects an estimate of over 50,000 euros in view of its size and power.
