How to deactivate the microphone of the PS5 by default?

When the built-in microphone in the DualSense is active, the mute button placed just below the PlayStation logo is turned off. If you press it, the microphone is muted and the button lights up orange.

So that this state of affairs is that by default and that you no longer need to cut it manually, here is the procedure:

  • Go to the menu of Settings of the PS5 (icon in the shape of a toothed wheel at the top right of the home menu).

  • Look for the line Son and select it
  • Then choose Microphone
  • Then select Microphone status after connection

  • Choose Deactivated and validate.

From now on, each time the console is started, the DualSense microphone will be disabled. Pressing the microphone button on the controller will reactivate it if you feel the need.
