After the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, it is now the turn of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The smallest and largest of Apple’s new smartphones are now available for pre-order from various retailers. Here are all the offers!
This year, Apple unveiled 4 new smartphones. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro were the first available on the market, you will also find where to buy them at the best price by consulting our dedicated article. There were still two missing, but today is the day when the range is finally complete.
Here is the imminent arrival of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max. These are clearly extremes, where one offers small dimensions while the other does not hesitate to expand to take up much more space in hand. They have one thing in common, however, as they are both available for pre-order today.
But where to pre-order them?
The iPhone 12 mini is available at the starting price of 809 euros for the 64 GB version. You will then have to pay 859 euros for the 128 GB version and 979 euros for the 256 GB version.
Regarding the iPhone 12 Pro Max, it starts with the 128 GB model at 1,259 euros, then 1,379 euros for the model with 256 GB of storage and finally 1,609 euros for 512 GB.
All about the iPhone 12 mini and 12 Pro Max
The iPhone 12 mini is the most compact smartphone in the range. Its OLED display, named Super Retina XDR by Apple, only extends over a small diagonal of 5.4 inches while displaying a Full HD + definition of 2340 x 1080 pixels. On the other side, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is quite simply the most imposing with 6.7 inches on his counter and a Quad HD definition that goes up to 2,778 x 1,284 pixels. We would have liked a refresh rate of 120 Hz for the latter, or at least 90 Hz, but Apple is limited to 60 Hz for all its new iPhones. Pity !
Anyway, we find on one as on the other the protection Ceramic Shield on the front or the same A14 chip inside smartphones. It is currently the most powerful configuration at the moment, which will meet all needs, including smooth navigation in the interface and on the Internet, 3D games and the use of more demanding applications. Whether mini version or Pro Max version, both are compatible with 5G network.
To return to the differences game, autonomy is obviously not the same with such a different size. The iPhone 12 Pro Max can hold up to 20 hours of video playback according to Apple, and up to 80 hours of audio. The iPhone 12 Mini is less eloquent on the subject with 15 hours of video playback and 50 hours of audio playback. Not surprisingly for a smartphone of such a small size, but that’s not the only downside, because the MagSafe wireless charging will also be less efficient than on other models.
As for the photo, the iPhone 12 mini is housed in the same boat as the classic iPhone 12 with a 12-megapixel dual camera, which has a wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lens respectively. The iPhone 12 Pro Max, like the classic Pro we tested, adds a x3 telephoto lens and a LiDAR sensor. The latter allows you to enjoy a portrait mode in night mode or a faster autofocus in low light conditions, for example. It is also highly useful for augmented reality, as we had already seen with the iPad Pro of 2020.
The Pro and Pro Max models will above all benefit from the “new” Apple ProRAW format which makes it possible to offer more possibilities for photo retouching, and all in ease, because it is directly integrated into the application when you want to view your shot.
