do you believe in the comeback of compact smartphones?

With the iPhone 12 mini and the Google Pixel 5, both recently announced, we can envision a return of compact smartphones to the fore. But what interests us is whether you believe it. Here is our poll of the week.

Just recently, Apple made its new smartphones official. In addition to the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, we also discover the iPhone 12 and 12 mini. The latter attracts particular attention since it is positioned in the high-end segment like its brothers, but offers a very compact format. Its 5.4-inch screen is housed in a device with a small size of 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4 mm and weighing 133 grams.

However, it is a roughly similar formula that we find on the Google Pixel 5. This smartphone at 629 euros also stands out for its very content format: 144.7 x 70.4 x 8 mm and a featherweight of 151 grams, while accommodating a 5.81 inch slab. While the mobile market had gradually accustomed us to ever larger and heavier devices, especially in the high-end and premium sector, here are two products that go against the grain.

A comeback of the compact?

Our test of the Google Pixel 5 allowed us to confirm that this product has the potential to arouse great enthusiasm and we already know that the iPhone 12 mini will sell like hot cakes. Together, they could therefore rekindle the flame of compact and relatively high-end smartphones. A flame that was only a shadow of itself since the discontinuation of Sony’s Xperia Compact range.

Now, we would like to know if you have this hope, do you believe in the comeback of compact smartphones?
