Le Xbox All Access

Xbox All Access comes in a subscription form to get an Xbox Series console without paying full price at launch. Payment is spread over 24 months (via a 0% consumer credit) with access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the entire period. In the end, you obviously keep your next-gen console.

From November 10, 2020, alone Micromania and the Fnac are approved to offer the All Access formula. The monthly cost is 32.99 euros per month for the Xbox Series X and of 24.99 euros per month for the Xbox Series S.

Unlike its Japanese competitor, Microsoft was unable to unveil its consoles next-gen in good standing because of a large leak on all of its official presentation. The Redmond firm was then forced to react by announcing the price, 299 € pour la Xbox Series S and 499 € pour la Xbox Series X, and the release date, set for November 10.

Xbox Series X: the most powerful

Since its announcement at the end of 2019, the Xbox Series X has been communicated by Microsoft as the most powerful console in the world. For this, it offers a power of 12 TFlops, translated by an 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU at 3.6-3.8 GHz, an AMD RDNA 2 GPU with 52 CU at 1825 GHz, 16 GB of RAM in GDDR6 and a 1TB SSD with the Xbox Velocity Architecture. With such a configuration, it is the assurance of being able to play all games in 4K at 60 frames per second, or even up to 120 FPS depending on the title. You can also taste the ray tracing which was previously reserved for the PC.

However, all this would be nothing without a good cooling system. The chimney design of the Xbox Series X is designed to achieve optimum temperature from the APU with ventilation covering the entire console rather than directly on the central chip heat sink, where the goal is obviously to deliver the best possible performance.

On the other hand, this induces a massive format which will find its place more difficult in your bedroom or in the living room.

Where to pre-order the Xbox Series X?

Xbox Series S is available at 499 euros at the majority of French resellers. This console model includes a 4K Blu-ray player, where you can even insert your old Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One games thanks to its great flexibility on backward compatibility.

Xbox Series S: the most compact

As Cassim says in the video above, the Xbox Series S is Microsoft’s secret boot against the PlayStation 5. With an introductory price of 299 euros, the current price of the Nintendo Switch, you will have access to a real console next-gen if you are willing to compromise.

With 200 euros difference compared to the Series X, this console is obviously less powerful with 4 TFlops against 12. However, these figures should not be compared with the Xbox One / PlayStation 4 generation, since the machines next-gen are not based on the same architecture. The S Series has almost the same AMD Zen 2 processor as its big sister and offers the same functions of ray tracing, as well as the use of the SSD (512 GB) with the Xbox Velocity Architecture. It is primarily designed for Full HD screens with a maximum definition of 1440p.

It is also the most compact new generation console. With its dimensions of approximately 30 x 15 x 7 cm, it will find its place much more easily under the cabinet of your TV.

Where to pre-order the Xbox Series S?

Xbox Series S is available at 299 euros at the majority of French resellers. Note also that the console does not include a Blu-Ray player, so you must go through the Microsoft Store – or the Xbox Game Pass – to buy and play your favorite games.
