Strategies are sharpening in the micromobility sector: while Lime offers itself a fourth-generation electric scooter to celebrate the first profitable quarter of its history, Bird, for its part, is approaching fintech to strengthen its appeal. The operator has in fact entered into a partnership with the British company Revolut, known for its bank cards which can be used abroad at no cost.

20 to 40% reduction on each trip

The duo are launching a new European-wide program that offers Revolut customers financially attractive discounts when traveling on a Bird electric scooter. To take advantage of it, all you have to do is add your Revolut bank card as the main means of payment on the Bird application. No code is requested, no travel limit has been set.

These discounts apply to Revolut members at all levels:

  • 20% for each card holder;
  • 30% for holders of a Premium card;
  • 40% for holders of a Metal card.

Until the end of March 2021

Once the trip is completed, the reduction is automatically transferred to your Revolut account. The shooting window to take advantage of such an offer is however confined to around five months, since the program will end on March 27, 2021, indicates an official press release, in which the director of Bird EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) cracked the following statement:

Helping more people get out of their cars and adopt environmentally friendly modes of transportation is crucial for our planet, especially as the global pandemic continues to highlight the importance of mobility respecting social distancing .
