During confinement, Audible, Amazon’s audio content service, comes to bring entertainment to the house with original programs. From November 26, Soundchef offers cooking recipes from top chefs. And Alexa is even there to support you in the kitchen.
With the proliferation of TV shows, cooking has been on the rise for several years. Imagine being a fine cordon bleu or wanting to redo the recipes of culinary stars, many have tried without always meeting the expected success.
To remedy this, there are cookbooks, websites and now apps. But it doesn’t always help to get it right. Audible, Amazon’s audiobook service, in turn plays the accompaniment card by launching Sound Chef !
Cyril Lignac on connected speaker
Via its website or its application, Audible has offered the services of Cyril Lignac, starred chef made famous by the show Top chef on M6, to concoct recipes to make at home by simply listening to the audiobook. For this first Fall / Winter season, Audible’s original program finds its full potential on a connected speaker, Amazon Echo range or any other product featuring Alexa, Amazon’s voice assistant which will be of great support to you. both hands in the preparation.
In Sound Chef, everything is explained step by step, the list of foods and utensils needed for the recipe is recalled from the start of the program (and provided as a PDF once you have purchased the audiobook). The time to wash your hands or your equipment is also counted during the reading.
We tested the program on an Echo Dot speaker, but it works just as well on a Sonos One with Alexa. It’s easy to pause the program by voice without having to touch a smartphone with dirty fingers or cursing because you missed a step. To trigger it, just say “Alexa, read Sound Chef”.
You can access the program from a smartphone or tablet (iOS or Android), or from the Audible.fr site. The book is sold for 14.95 euros.
Season 1 offers 5 hours of recipes in audiobook format, led by Cyril Lignac. The chef offers recipes to make in less than 20 minutes, elaborate dishes, but also a program “I batch cook in less than 1 hour”, to make all his dishes for the week. He is accompanied on two recipes by pastry chef Nina Métayer and culinary blogger Christelle Huet-Gomez.
