aggressive price, sporting uses and visual comfort on the menu

Huawei presented us in Paris its brand new connected bracelet by the name of Band 6. Direct competitor of the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5, the device is intended above all for athletes with a plethora of supported physical activities. All at a relatively aggressive price.

The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 conquered the editorial staff in October 2020, and everything suggests – at least on paper – that the Huawei Band 6 has the assets to reap the same praise, if not more. The Chinese brand organized a presentation in Paris to unveil the design and functionality of its product.

And the least we can say is that the format of the Huawei Band 6 is appealing, since it is located between a bracelet and a watch: rectangular, the 1.47 inch screen indeed brings a lot more large surface to interact with the device.

Almost 100 sports activities

As a reminder, the Honor Band 5 benefits from a 0.95 inch screen, against 1.1 inch for the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5. The Chinese giant has made a strong choice here by enlarging the small touch screen which will offer here a much better daily navigation. This is indeed what we could sometimes blame for too small screens: not optimal navigation.

Without a doubt, the Huawei Band 6 emphasizes sports: the product supports 96 sports activities, of which 6 are detected automatically. Clearly, the bracelet activates the sensors by itself when it detects the start of a specific session (indoor walking, outdoor walking, rowing machine, elliptical trainer, indoor running and outdoor running).

The sensors will be used to monitor heart rate, SpO2 (oxygen saturation in the blood), sleep, menstrual cycles and stress. Breathing exercises are also on the program. The Huawei Band 6 claims two weeks of autonomy, including nine days in intensive use (heart sensor constantly activated).

On the charging side, count one hour for a full day of use and two hours for a full charge. The product will finally benefit from a wide customization via the Huawei Health application.

The Huawei Band 6 will be available from April 27, 2021 for the sum of 59 euros, in green, black, pink and orange colors.
